Each College is supported by a student representative council comprising an elected body of students who represent the needs of their fellow students across the individual campuses.
Counselling services
WideBay TAFE provides counselling services to assist students in exploring career and training pathways. Whether students need course and career guidance, personal counselling or just someone to talk to in a confidential setting, a counsellor is available to assist.
Counselling services include:
- course and career guidance - alternative pathways to education outcomes, Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre (QTAC) guidance and tertiary entrance
- personal counselling - decision making, help with study skills, problem solving and goal setting, stress management and time management
- youth allowance and Austudy information
- accommodation register.

Disability services
WideBay TAFE supports people with a disability. It is recommended that students with a disability contact the disability services officer/counsellor for a confidential appointment prior to enrolment. Discussions regarding program requirements can take place and specific needs can be addressed.

Indigenous student support
The indigenous student support officer assists indigenous students studying either on campus or through other Institute programs. Assistance is available to manage issues such as Abstudy, career counselling and managing study programs.

International student support
The international student support officer is dedicated to providing WideBay TAFE's international students with outstanding services such as:
- assistance upon arrival in Queensland, Australia
- orientation to WideBay TAFE and local community
- homestay accommodation arrangements
- apartment/flat accommodation arrangements
- visa and passport assistance
- social activities
- quarterly newsletters informing you of what's happening at WideBay TAFE
- study assistance

Sexual harassment support
WideBay TAFE strongly supports the rights of students and staff to work in an environment that is free from harassment. Sexual harassment refers to any behaviour of a sexual nature that causes a person to feel offended, intimidated or humiliated.
Each campus provides the services of a Sexual Harassment Referral Officer. This officer is trained to provide information about the range of options available to resolve issues of sexual harassment.

Student support coordinator
The student support coordinator at WideBay TAFE 's Hervey Bay College provides support to students related to work practices, attendance and behaviour, and aims to foster positive working relationships between students and teachers. Learning support can assist all students - full time, part time, any age, any subject area, in a variety of situations with:

- resume writing.
