William Parry Memorial Bursary Awards (Bundaberg)
The late Colonel Daniel Edward Evans made provision in his will for an annual educational bursary for an engineering apprentice in the Bundaberg Engineering District including sugar mills. The award is known as the William Parry Memorial Award in memory of William Parry who was the Engineer Foreman of the Bundaberg Foundry Company at the turn of this century.
Available funding for the William Parry Memorial Bursary Fund has meant that it has not been possible to offer the bursary every year. The bursary is offered biannually, with the last being made available in 2007.
Two awards will be made available to the value of $500.00 each.
Nomination for awards
Who can apply? Engineering apprentices, trainees...
Nominees for an Award must be involved in studies in an apprenticeship or traineeship between December 2007 and December 2008.
Student nominees will be interviewed by a selection panel on the basis of outstanding application and attitude which will reflect credit on TAFE, their teacher's and nominee's vocations.
