Contacting students
The institute has limited capacity to locate students. Messages can be given to students only in cases of extreme emergency.
Customer care
The Customer Care Unit is your main access point for information and administration within the institute. The unit consists of staff at all locations as well as an institute call centre located in Hervey Bay. Services you can access through the unit include:
- Program information
- Enrolment
- Fee payments
- General institute information
- Contact for other units in the institute, such as Student Services and Facilities

Motor vehicle/bicycle parking
Designated parking areas and bicycle racks are provided for use by students within institute grounds. Vehicles are parked on institute property at the owner's risk.
Privacy - student personal information
The institute will collect information from you at enrolment for general student administration. This information may also be used for planning, communication, research, evaluation and marketing activities. Your personal information is stored securely and only authorised institute staff have access to your information.
The institute will manage your personal information according to the Information Privacy Act 2009 and its Information Privacy Principles, the Right to Information Regulation 2009.
Your personal information may be disclosed to Commonwealth and state government agencies.
If you are an apprentice or trainee, your personal information, attendance details, progress and results may be disclosed to your employer.
If you are under the age of 18 years your personal information, attendance details, progress and results may be disclosed to your parent/guardian.
In accordance with the Information Privacy Principles, no further access to your enrolment information will be provided to any other organisation or persons without your consent unless authorised or required by law.
It is important that you advise any change of address or other relevant personal details that occur during the time you are enrolled. If you need to change your personal details, contact Customer Care.
Promotional activities
On occasions you may be requested to participate in activities associated with promoting Wide Bay TAFE, for example, photos, radio and television testimonials. You will be advised at the time as to the purpose of the activity. If you do not wish to participate, please advise the staff member concerned. If you choose to participate, you will be required to complete a Publication Permission Form (to use copyright material, image, recording or name) that will be retained by the institute.
This form will relate to the activity for which the image or recording was taken. If you wish to withdraw your consent after you have completed the form, please contact Customer Care.
Restaurants
Wide Bay TAFE's restaurants provide a hands-on training environment to prepare people for an exciting future in the hospitality industry. The success of this training is heavily reliant on members of the public becoming patrons of the training restaurants. For information and bookings, contact Customer Care.
