William Parry Memorial Bursary Awards (Bundaberg)
The late Colonel Daniel Edward Evans made provision in his will for an annual educational bursary for an engineering apprentice in the Bundaberg engineering district including sugar mills. The award is known as the William Parry Memorial Award in memory of William Parry who was the Engineer Foreman of the Bundaberg Foundry Company at the turn of the 20th century.
Available funding for the William Parry Memorial Bursary Fund has meant that it has not been possible to offer the bursary every year, with the last being made available in 2007. Two awards will be made available to the value of $500.00 each. [more...]
