Study tours
Our Study Tour Program provides participants with a combination of academic, leisure and sporting activities while experiencing the beautiful environment and rich culture of South East Queensland. A Study Tour Coordinator accompanies the participants to provide support and ensure all aspects of the tour are well organised.
Wide Bay Institute of TAFE can arrange study tours for small groups of up to 5 people or larger groups of up to 45 people. Study tours can be arranged for periods ranging between 2 weeks and 3 months.
Let us know your group's background, what you want out of the study tour, when you wish to arrive, for how long, and your budget. We can then develop a program to suit your particular needs and interests and ensure that you get maximum benefit from your experience in beautiful Hervey Bay.
Daily rate per student:
From $100/day (does not include ½ day or day tours)
Duration: 14 days to 3 months
Numbers: Minimum of 20 students and 2 teachers

- 16 hours English Lessons focussing on Tourism English
- 16 hours Dinner service at the Institute's Training restaurant (2 groups x 8 hours each)
- 8 hours Lunch service at Training restaurant (2 groups x 4 hours each)
- 8 hours Culinary Art / cooking lessons (2 groups x 4 hours each)
- 10 hours Beverage and Cocktail lessons (2 groups x 5 hours each)
- 8 hours Restaurant educational visit to popular regional restaurants (2 groups x 4 hours each)
- 2 half day tours; Hervey Bay City and beach, Whale watching
- 2 full day tours; Childers farm, Woodgate beach and Ice cream factory; Fraser Island
You will be required to bring swimming costume, sunscreen, hat, good walking shoes (not new), and allergy medications for allergy sufferers.
