International student support officer
The international student support officer is dedicated to providing WideBay TAFE's international students with outstanding services such as:
- assistance upon arrival in Queensland, Australia
- orientation to WideBay TAFE and local community
- homestay accommodation arrangements
- apartment/flat accommodation arrangements
- visa and passport assistance
- social activities
- quarterly newsletters informing you of what's happening at WideBay TAFE
study assistance - personal support.
One of the key roles of the international student support officer at WideBay TAFE is to assist students in making the most of their study at WideBay TAFE. A range of activities are offered to increase international students' involvement in the campus community, local community and to increase students' overall experience while studying at WideBay TAFE. Some of the activities international students can participate in include:
- camping on Fraser Island
- table tennis
- windsurfing
- snorkelling
- jet skiing
- beach barbeques
- ten pin bowling
- archery
- bush walking
- horse riding
- camel riding
- soccer club membership
- visits to theme parks (Dreamworld, Movie World, Sea World)
- skydiving
- movie nights
- weekend camps
- band nights
- visits to National Parks
- participation in local festivals
- volunteer work to assist with course of study
- fishing trips
- visits to local schools
- trips throughout Queensland.
