Research and information centres
WideBay TAFE offers the latest technology and most up-to-date resources to assist students while studying. These include research and information centres, where students can access computers at a time convenient to them. Full-time tutors are on hand to provide assistance and advice. Research and information centres incorporate Libraries containing a comprehensive collection of books, magazines, newspapers, multimedia, video and computer equipment. Internet access is also available for students at each college.
These research and information centres allow students to access relevant and timely training in areas such as computing software and business studies, with staff available to provide advice.
High School students
International High School students will be enrolled in our Academic English Course in order to ensure they receive the necessary support in this area. The students also receive support and guidance through involvement in the CARE program. The CARE program links groups of students with a teacher and provides them with support in study skills, time management, self esteem and teamwork.
Participation in these groups ensures the student is able to receive support and achieve their full potential.
Airport reception
Brisbane Airport pickup is available at the cost of $120 AUD to those students who request it. WideBay TAFE requires a minimum of five days notice for this service. Students will be met at the Brisbane International Airport by an Institute representative, driven to the bus terminal, and placed on a bus to WideBay TAFE. Upon arrival to Wide Bay, they will be met by WideBay TAFE's international student support officer who will then take them to their accommodation. There is no charge for airport reception if you fly into Bundaberg, Maryborough or Hervey Bay.
