The Wide Bay region stretches from Bundaberg in the north to Gympie in the south incorporating the Fraser Coast region of Hervey Bay and Maryborough. The Wide Bay region features two World Heritage listed areas, Fraser Island and the Great Barrier Reef. It is also the main whale watching area in Australia where you can experience an 'up close and personal' encounter with giant humpback whales.

In perfect, stinger-free water, enjoy swimming, kayaking, yachting, diving, water and jet skiing, wind surfing and snorkelling. Boating and fishing enthusiasts enjoy estuary, beach, jetty, reef and game fishing.

Bordered by 40 kilometres of pristine beaches, Hervey Bay is one of Queensland's best natural holiday destinations offering convenient access to World Heritage listed Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world, and Lady Elliot Island - the first coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef.

The Wide Bay Region has a sub-tropical climate and one of the best in Australia. The beautiful summer months are November to February, with minimal humidity and average temperatures of 21-30 degrees. The winter months are from June to August with average temperatures of 12-22 degrees.
