Homestay accommodation

WideBay TAFE coordinates a homestay accommodation program.

This ensures that students are offered safe, quality accommodation with full board and meals. The homestay accommodation program provides an ideal opportunity for students to live with an Australian family and to experience Australian culture.

Families who offer accommodation are interviewed, and counselled on supporting international students living away from home, by the international student support officer.

Students are required to pay homestay accommodation fees directly to their homestay provider and are required to give at least one weeks notice before leaving.

Homestay is offered to all international students, the cost is $180 AUD per week and includes:

To arrange homestay please complete the accommodation booking form [PDF 46kb] or [Word 346kb] and return to the international student support officer to make the arrangements before you arrive.

Our international student support officer says this about our homestay families:

"We have a great group of people who really go out of their way to help the students get the most from their stay in Australia. Some homestays volunteer their time for activities. Many of the others phone around and organise themselves into transport rosters for student activities, or help to make students welcome by organising birthday celebrations or 'welcome to Australia' cakes when new students arrive.

Every family is different but all of them put in a great effort to welcome the international students of WideBay TAFE and help to make our Institute one of the best for student support in Australia."
