The Vocational Campus @ WideBay TAFE
About the Vocational Campus
When it comes to the Senior Phase of Learning many people may not realise that WideBay TAFE offers one of the most successful and progressive programs available in the state.
Through its Hervey Bay campus the Institute offers a range of Vocational Packages teamed with Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) approved subjects so students can tailor their studies to their particular areas of interest and thus increase their chances of gaining the employment or the University outcomes they desire. The Vocational Campus @ WideBay TAFE has been delivering an impeccable senior program since 1986. Its teachers specialise in QSA programs and offer students a genuine commitment to and interest in their future.
Studying at the Vocational Campus @ WideBay TAFE offers many advantages:
-
provides a learning environment where students are treated with the maturity and respect of a tertiary learning institution. The classes are small, with an innovative group of progressively minded teachers dedicated to helping students become forward thinking young adults. Our teachers have teaching and industry qualifications (they know their subject and how it relates to the modern working world) giving students an advantage when they reach the workforce.
-
gives students the advantage of having a close relationship with their vocational teachers and the industry standard facilities located at the campus such as a fully operational gym and fitness centre, hairdressing and beauty salons, commercial kitchens and restaurant, construction workshops and a multimedia laboratory.
-
allows students to study their chosen vocational field, obtain structured work placement in their field of study as well as receive their QCE at the end of the two year program.
-
guarantees students who have successfully completed their program of study a direct pathway into further study in their chosen field, this option can cut up to one year from the normal Diploma pathway.
Parents and students are encouraged to talk to the staff at WideBay TAFE's, Hervey Bay Campus before they make any final decisions about studying years 11 and 12.
