Firearms Licensing Program
This course meets the Queensland Police licensing requirements for Security Guard firearms permits. Selected units from the Certificate III in Security Operations training package are included in this course.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to Weapons Act Licensing requirements you must be 18 years of age to undertake this program. A person is ineligible to hold a Weapons Act Licence if, within the past five years, they have been convicted of offences including misuse of drugs, or weapons, and the use or threatened use of violence. A person is ineligible to hold a Weapons Act Licence if they are or have been the subject of a domestic violence order in the past five years.
This program, coupled with the Certificate II in Security Operations, forms the Queensland minimum statutory requirement for employment within security environments requiring the carriage of firearms.
