The Hervey Bay campus of Wide Bay Institute of TAFE enrols 3,500 students each year.
Campus
Hervey Bay campus is the Institute's specialist centre for Years 11 and 12 High School Studies, Visual Arts, Hospitality and Fitness and Recreation. Business, Retail and Information Technology departments are also located at the Urraween Road campus. One of the unique aspects of the Hervey Bay campus is the fact that it offers Years 11 and 12 High School Studies. On campus are workshops for Metal Fabrication and Machining, Automotive, and Carpentry (Furnishing).

Facilities
Gymnasium
The campus has its own fully equipped gymnasium, which students can access during non-programmed time. It is staffed by fitness tutors who are able to conduct fitness tests and develop personal training programs.
Multimedia training facility
The campus has an industry standard multimedia lab.
Sound studio
The sound studio enables students to professionally produce sound tracks and to record their own composition and demo tapes.
Film studio
The campus has a media studio, which satisfies all requirements of the industry. Students are able to participate in video production and produce high quality short videos.
Computer aided drafting
The Hervey Bay campus boasts modern industry standard drafting facilities. Students work on track tape drafting machines using modern drafting aids equipment. Students that participate in Year 12 of our High School program have the option to complete the majority of their work on computer aided drafting design (CADD) software.
Training restaurant

Hall
The Hervey Bay campus has a fully enclosed hall featuring a sprung floor for dance and is marked for indoor basketball, cricket and soccer.
Fitness centre
These facilities include a fully equipped fitness-training centre, including the hall that is used for aerobics, indoor basketball, indoor soccer and netball, athletics field suitable for hockey, football and soccer, as well as tennis courts and a golf driving range.
English language centre
Wide Bay Institute of TAFE's English language centre is accredited with the National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) - Australia's national accreditation scheme for English language teaching centres. The centre offers full-time English language programs, providing 25 hours of class time per week in a small class setting, ensuring International Students receive individual attention. Hair and beauty centre
Receive quality tuition and training in our professionally equipped centre and you will also receive a substantial set of tools, equipment, head blocks and learning text.

Wide Bay Institute of TAFE offers excellent training facilities to both students and industry. We feature mechanical and engineering workshops which feature the latest technological and diagnostic equipment.
This ensures you receive training in an actual workshop environment - providing you with the "hands on" skills employers seek.
Industry apprentices, trainees and staff receive practical training that can instantly be put to use in their workplace.

Our community
Hervey Bay lies on the East Coast of Australia and offers a comfortable sub-tropical climate. As one of Australia's fastest growing cities, Hervey Bay has a population of approximately 52,500 people (2006 Census).
The Bay has a large tourism industry and a reputation as a safe and relaxing family holiday destination. Hervey Bay offers a variety of attractions, activities and entertainment including World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, whale watching, water and beach based activities, most sports, bush walking, and a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants.
Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, measuring 124 kilometres long and covering an area of 163,000 hectares. The island encompasses an amazing variety of landscapes, including long surf beaches, cliffs and gorges in shades of orange, red, yellow and pure white sand, dense rainforests, vast desert-like sand blows, freshwater lakes perched high up in its dunes, winding streams, great basalt headlands and salt pans with eerie mangrove forests.
